7 Mistakes You should avoid as a Newbie Blogger

Today, am gonna share with you 7 major mistakes to avoid as a new blogger, most bloggers who are just coming to the online content creation space, tend to make this mistake but you can avoid it.

STOP LOOKING FOR FREE HOSTING AND DOMAIN:

First it is just too much stress. Secondly, any free domain/hosting you get is not truly yours. You can get blocked at any time. There are also issues with ranking, adsense approval and traffic. Point is, avoid free domains and hosting.

SHORT CONTENT:

If you intend to get adsense approval and want to rank well. Avoid writing blog posts that are less than 500 words. The longer your blog posts, the easier it is to rank and get high quality traffic.

COPY/PLAGIARISED CONTENT:

Never do this. You would be penalized. It is better not to even start blogging at all.

WRITING YOUR BLOG POSTS AS IF YOU ARE WRITING TO A FRIEND :

Your posts should either be educational, informative or entertaining depending on your niche. Use headlines, sub headings, images, gifs, videos, etc in between your posts where necessary. Don’t write as if you are writing a love letter.

AVOID QUICK GAINS:

Blogging is a long term game. A 3 month old blog may be sold for 300k and above but in those 3 months, you’d have to grind hard and fast. Stop looking for quick wins with blogging.

NOTHING IS PERFECT:

If you are a perfectionist then blogging is not for you or kill that perfectionist in you. Truth is, your blog would never be perfect. And waiting for your blog to be perfect before you do the work is just your laziness speaking.

THINKING BLOGGING IS PASSION:

If you have a passion for your blog, that is great. But don’t leave a profitable niche cos you think you don’t have passion for it. I treat blogging like a business.

My passion is chess and I have never opened a chess blog. My point is, starting a blog does not necessarily have to be about your passion but about making easy passive money.
